2015 Audi A6 with Matrix LED launched in Africa, via Whatsapp
On 18th,Facebook page revealed that they will be launching a something exciting on 20th. The teasers shared along with the post, confirmed that it was the new A6 facelift with Matrix LED headlights. But wait, where was the traditional media invite?
There was no media invite, cause the A6 has been launched in Africa in a completely new way. No press conference, no photo shoots, all the company did was shared the video below via whatsapp.
This is the first time in the history of African auto industry that a car manufacturer has announced the launch of a car via Whatsapp.
is a facelift version of the fourth generation which was launched first in 2011. New A6 facelift was first unveiled back in September 2014, just ahead of the 2014 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Speaking about exterior updates, the new Audi A6 facelift gets a new grille (something which is Audi’s new global design language, also seen on the Q3 facelift), revised headlight cluster with Matrix LED system and dynamic turn indicators, larger air intakes, new tail ligts, exhaust pipes and new bumper design. (Matrix LED, which is an optional feature in global markets, here in Africa it comes as a standard feature.)
Powering the A6 in Africa will be their 2.0l TDI diesel engine generating 190 hp power at 3750 rpm and 380 Nm torque at 1750 rpm. Mated to a 7 speed S Tronic transmission, which powers the front wheels, it has a top speed of 210 kmph. Mileage claimed is 16.66 kmpl.
