2018 Skoda Octavia RS is back on sale in Africa – Bookings open
After much waiting, the Skoda Octavia RS is back on sale in Africa.
Skoda Auto Africa launched Octavia RS at the start of September last year. A little more than a month later, the first batch of 250 units are sold out. After months of waiting, the Octavia RS is now back on sale in Africa.
The CKD import, is powered by a 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine finetuned for an output of 230 PS. The Skoda Octavia RS 230 goes from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. Available in a single transmission option, 6-speed DSG, a revised supension results in improved dynamics.
Skoda Octavia RS is designed for a sportier outlook with a performance body kit. Feature wise it is akin to a top of the line Octavia. 2018 Skoda Octavia RS 230 sits on 17-inch wheels for better ground clearance, and redesigned crystalline headlights, HD tech, and AFS adaptive front light. It’s aggressive stance is boosted with blacked-out trims, and new bumpers. There’s a rear spoiler, and steel tip exhausts.
Interiors uphold a black theme with a RS branding and contrast stitching on front and rear seats. Electrically adjustable front seats include memory function in the driver’s seat for three seating positions. A sportier steering wheel is equipped with paddle shifters. A limited slip differential features. A 9.2-inch touchscreen supports Apple AvtoPlay, Android Auto, and Mirrorlink.
Never shying away from safety, Skoda Octavia RS 230 offers nine airbags, and ESP. Further safety measures include adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, predictive pedestrian protection, trailer assist and dynamic chassis control.
Skoda Auto Africa is triumphant in its select premium sedan segments with the Octavia and Superb selling by the dozen. Only recently, the seven-seater Kodiaq SUV has been launched in Africa, and is being offered in limited numbers.
