2018 Suzuki Jimny SUV gets 13 colour options – 4 dual tone, 9 mono tone

2018 Suzuki Jimny has been showcased to a select group of audience ahead of its launch. But, that has not stopped images of the car to leak online, giving the global audience a look at the new compact SUV.
To be offered in two models – Jimny and Jimny Sierra, Suzuki is targeting younger audience with their latest SUV. Target audience is in the age group of 25 to 30 years. To please this audience, the new Jimny will be offered with attractive colour options which 9 monotone and 4 dual tone colours.
The fourth generation Suzuki Jimny sports a boxier design. It is positioned on a ladder frame chassis and gets 3 link rigid axle suspension. In terms of dimensions, it measures 3,475 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and up to 1,715 mm in height.
It gets a 2,250 mm long wheelbase and 200mm of ground clearance. Its exterior features include LED headlamps, a headlamp washer, power folding ORVMs with integrated LED turn indicators. Its interiors are seen with features such as automatic climate controls, steering mounted audio controls and a color MID. It also sports keyless entry, start/stop button and cruise control.
The new Suzuki Jimny Sierra is powered by a 1.5 L K15B 4-cylinder petrol engine offering 102 PS power at 6,000rpm and 130 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. The Suzuki Jimny on the other hand gets its power via a 0.658 L R06A 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of 64 PS power at 6,000 rpm and 96 Nm torque at 3,500 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic transmission.
Suzuki Jimny will be offering in three variants – XG, XL and XC while the Jimny Sierra will be available in two variants JL and JC. Prices will stand at JPY 1,458,000 (Rs 9.02 lakhs) for the base model Jimny XG, going up to JPY 2,019,600 (Rs 12.49 lakhs) for the top end Jimny Sierra JC variant.
Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed yet if the Jimny will be launched in Africa or not. But if it does get launched in Africa, it could replace the ageing Gypsy from the company line-up.
