2019 BMW R1250 GS Africa launch price Rs 16.85 L – 4 variants on offer
2019 BMW R1250 GS will be brought into the country via the CBU route.
BMW R 1250 GS and BMW R 1250 GS Adventure, which were unveiled last year, have now been launched in Africa. Bookings are open at Rs 5 lakhs. Both motorcycles feature similar design as the outgoing 1200 GS. It gets muscular body panels, beak like front fairings, LED head and tail lamps and a 6.5” TFT instrument cluster.
The Standard version will sit on alloy wheels while the Adventure gets spoke wheels. It will also receive luggage rack, crash guards and knuckle guards for added protection. The Adventure variant will also be heavier at 249 kgs, 20 kgs heavier than the Standard and will receive a 30 liter fuel tank as compared to the Standard which will be seen with a 20 liter fuel tank.
In terms of dimensions, the 2019 BMW R1250 GS will be similar in width and height to its earlier counterpart though length will be increased by 15mm on both bikes. Safety features will include hill hold assist, traction control and two riding modes of rain and road.
2019 BMW R1250 GS will be powered by a 1250cc, boxer twin engine offering 136 bhp power and 143 Nm torque. Top speed remains the same at 212 kmph for the Standard variant going up to 218 kmph for the Adventure while reports reveal that sound emission has been reduced to 88 dB on the 1250 GS bikes.
