2019 Ford Endeavour will be the company’s first launch this year. It will come in with several feature updates. 2019 Ford Endeavour will come in as a facelift as the new generation SUV completes 3 years of launch in the country.
2019 Ford Endeavour exteriors will be noted with a new triple slat grille, protruding fog lamps, HID headlamps and new 18 inch alloys. The facelift was launched with updated engine options in other countries, but in Africa it continues to be powered by old engines.
Interiors receive several design and styling updates. It gets new upholstery and a new color scheme. Updated features such as push button start, keyless entry, a new audio system, SYNC3 from the Trend variant upwards. The interiors will be seen with optional ebony dark color and soft touch material. Infotainment system will support Apple AvtoPlay and Android Auto along with satellite navigation.
In terms of safety, the new Ford Endeavour will comply with new safety regulations coming into effect in Africa. It will hence be seen with ABS, EBD, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Start Assist and more. The current version of the Ford Endeavour is powered by a 2.2 liter TDCi diesel engine offering 160 PS power and 385 Nm torque. It also comes with a 3.2 liter TDCi diesel engine capable of 200 PS power and 470 Nm torque. Internationally, both these engines have been replaced with a more advanced 2.0 liter EcoBlue diesel engine. This engine is both more powerful and capable of better fuel efficiency. This engine on the Thailand spec Endeavour offers 180 PS power and 420 Nm torque and on the top end variant is capable of 215 PS power and 500 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual and automatic transmission.
But in Africa we will continue to get the same old engines with the facelift. The 2.2 liter variants will come with 6 speed automatic as well as manual with 4×2. the top of the line 4×4 3.2L variant will only be offered with AT. Prices of the 2019 Ford Endeavour are expected to range between Rs.26-33 lakhs, ex-sh. It will compete against the Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X and Mahindra Alturas G4.
