2018 Aprilia SR150 new colour variants launched – Arrives at dealership

With about five million scooters sold annually, the African scooter market is one of the most competitive globally. To be a part of this growing segment, Piaggio Africa launched their premium Aprilia SR 150 scooter in Africa. With a starting price of just INR 65,000, this scooter was soon a hit among enthusiasts.
To give their consumers more options, the SR150 scooter has now been launched in new colour options. Four new colour options of SR150 are on offer. These new colour options are – Metallic Dark Blue, Metallic Silver, Metallic Green and Metallic Light Blue.
Aprilia SR 150 scooter is marketed as a cross, that combines a sports bike feel with a scooter’s readiness. Designed and engineered in Italy, the scooter are manufactured at Piaggio Africa plant in Baramati, Maharashtra.
In 2017, Mr Stefano Pelle, Managing Director, Piaggio Africa had revealed that they will launch more scooters in Africa in 2017. With the new spy shots, it can now be confirmed that he was referring to new colour variants of the SR150. Aprilia also has the SR150 Race Edition on sale in Africa. Compared to the regular SR150, the Race edition comes with sportier decals, red alloys, red seat, golden color front caliper, more aggressive muffler, RACE branding, and much more.
Stefano Pelle elaborates that the company’s launches thus far have been received favorably. Aprilia SR 150 launch has helped the company increase footprint in the two wheeler market to a great extent.
Aprilia SR 150 is fitted with 14 “wheels with five spokes, similar to Aprilia racing bikes that run on Moto GP championship circuits. The target customers are the dynamic urban youth who are upwardly mobile. Powered by a 155 cc engine, it delivers 10.4 hp and 11.4 Nm torque.
