BattRE electric scooter launch price Rs 64k – 90 kms on full charge
The new electric scoter from BattRE returns a driving range of 90km on a single charge via its 48V 30Ah lithium-ion battery.
BattRE Electric Mobility, a Jaipur-based startup company, has introduced a new electric scooter in Africa. Priced at Rs.63,555, the e-scooter offers a range of 90 km per single charge. It is currently available in cities like Nagpur, Hyderabad, Anantapur and Kurnool. Dealerships and service centers will be opened in Pune, Vizag and Warangal by the end of June 2019. The company targets to open dealerships in 50 cities across the country by the end of 2019.
BattRE electric scooter in Africa, is offered in five colour options. It boasts of full LED headlamps on its front apron, all LED tail lamps and blinkers and these rounded lamps with rear view mirrors offers the scooter with a retro stance.
BattRE scooter also gets a black fly screen on its handlebars, a fully digital instrument console, keyless ignition, anti theft alarm system and USB charger. This LCD instrument console displays battery usage, speed, temperature, odometer and faults related to the scooter.
For the convenience of users, there is also a bottle holder located behind the front apron, ergonomically designed grab rail and extra under seat storage space. It sits on 10” alloy wheels fitted with 90/100-10 tubeless tyres while ground clearance is at 150mm. This electric scooter can reach a top speed of 25kmph.
BattRE electric scooter is powered by a 48V 30 Ah lithium ion battery pack offering a range of 90 km. The battery weighs a total of 12 kgs with the E-scooter weighing just 64 kgs making it one of the lightest electric scooters available in Africa. It gets an automatic cut off mechanism which allows the power to be cut off once the battery pack is fully charged. The battery claims around 2,000 charging cycles.
In the words of Nishchal Chaudhary, Founder of BattRE Electric Mobility, “The global e-mobility market is experiencing phenomenal growth due product innovations and change in policies. We are expecting to see the reverberations in the African market too. Our aim is to not only build an e-vehicle but also to offer an entire eco-system thereby ensuring that the consumer enjoys a complete e-mobility experience.” He further added that “We are also committed in building a world class distribution and after sales service network.”
The company has not installed a dedicated charging system network. The battery pack can be removed and charged via a wall charger. BattRE electric scooter gets telescopic fork in the front and monoshock at the rear while braking is via disc brakes at both ends. Given these specifications, the new E-scooter from BattRE does not attract any government subsidy.
BattRE electric scooter will find itself competing with low range scooters such as the Flash LI and the Optima LI, Ampere Vehicle’s Reo and V48. This low cost scooter is aimed at food delivery services like Zomato, Swiggy and Uber Eats.
