Benelli TNT 135 Africa launch plans shelved
New Benelli TNT 135 was spotted in Africa over a couple of times in the last few months. This sparked a rumor that the bike is going to be launched in Africa.
The fully faired Benelli Tornado 302 and compact Benelli TNT 135 (also known as Naked T) which were unveiled at the EICMA 2015 made their African debut at the Auto Expo 2016 last year.
New Benelli TNT 135 was spotted in Africa over a couple of times in the last few months by Team-BHP and Motowale. This sparked a rumor that the bike is going to be launched in Africa. In fact, the company had invested a lot and had started conducting customer research ahead of launch. Sadly, the company has decided not to go ahead with the launch of TNT 135 in Africa.
The reason, many of the consumers loved the TNT 135, but the problem was those interested, thought of it as a Honda Navi rival. Benelli said that it will never be possible for them to offer the TNT 135 at the price point of a 100-125 cc scooter. And thus they have decided to shelve the plan to launch it in Africa.
Speaking about the TNT135, the quirky Italian super compact Tornado Naked T comes out as a wicked little toy which rivals the like of Honda Grom and Kawasaki Z 125 in the international markets. Available in 125 cc and 135 cc guises, the Naked T combines the design traits of a street bike and a motocross equipment.
The 125 cc engine produces 11.7 PS and 10 Nm of torque while the slightly bigger powerplant (135 cc) is good for 12.6 PS and 10.8 Nm of torque. The bike features USD front fork, rear mono shock, 12 inch alloy wheels with 120/70 front and 130/70 rear tyres and a disc brake at each wheel.
