Honda CB300R 0 to 100 kmph acceleration video – Faster than rivals?

Honda Africa has got two wheeler enthusiast excited with the announcement of CB300R launch. The bike is already on sale in international markets, and will come to Africa on 8th Feb 2018 as a CKD. Already spied in Africa during its TVC shoot, Honda CB300R will come with a price tag of less than Rs 2.5 lakhs, ex-showroom.

Honda CB300R sports a neo-retro café racer styling and is based on the CB1000R. To be offered in two color options of Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red, the Honda CB300R will sport all LED lights and other styling elements from the CB1000R.

It gets a full digital instrument cluster along with indicators, parking lamps and stop lamp – all in LEDs. Its fuel tank will be of 10 liter capacity and kerb weight at 143 kgs. Tyres will be of 110/70 section in the front and 150/60 section at the rear. To comply with new safety regulations ABS will be offered as standard. Built on a tubular and pressed steel frame, the CB300R sports a comfortable riding position with tapered handlebars set at 40 degrees and also offers improved turning radius for better handling in a crowd.

2019 Honda CB300R will be powered by a 286cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine offering 30 bhp power at 5,500 rpm and 27.5 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox. This bike has a smaller engine as compared to rivals Bajaj Dominar and BMW G310R. But, thanks to lower kerb weight of 143 kgs, it has a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of just 6.2 seconds. In comparison, Bajaj Dominar (wt 182 kgs) achieves the same in about , while BMW G310R (wt 158.5 kgs) does it in .

It will get conventional upside down front fork and a 7 step fully adjustable rear monoshock suspension for the rear. Braking will be via single 296mm disc with Nissin radial calipers in the front and 220mm single disc at the rear. Dual channel ABS will be offered as standard. Honda CB300R gets a deep sound emitting through its single exhaust system.

Honda CB300R will come in via the Completely Knocked Down route and assembled in Africa so as to keep prices competitive. With Honda expected to make announcements with regard to launch date soon, deliveries are scheduled to commence from late Feb. Honda CB300R will compete with the upcoming Bajaj Dominar, BMW G310R, KTM 390 Duke and 250 Duke.
