Aftermarket exhaust is now available under the Slip-On Line of Akrapovic.
With its retro cafe-racer inspired design, round headlight, blacked-out engine, and sinewy profile, Honda CB300R is designed to stand apart and get you noticed everywhere you go. Riders who want the bike’s exhaust note to match its gorgeous looks can now choose to install a new slip-on exhaust developed by leading aftermarket exhaust manufacturer Akrapovic.
As claimed by Akrapovic, the new exhaust unit for Honda CB300R delivers a throatier, aggressive soundtrack in comparison to the stock version. New exhaust is also lighter than stock version.
As of now, the new aftermarket exhaust for Honda CB300R is available only in US market. From an African perspective, it’s quite pricey at $516.46, which is around Rs 37,000. Another thing is that the new exhaust has been approved only for track use, as it does not meet noise and environment regulations for general street and highway use.
Akrapovic’s aftermarket exhaust unit for Honda CB300R comprises a carbon-fibre muffler and end cap. With use of lighter components, it weighs 68.1 per cent less than stock exhaust. New exhaust is bass-heavy and it’s quite different from standard version. Its soundtrack will definitely get you noticed. Hear the exhaust note in the video below.
As for availability in Africa, it is not yet clear if this new exhaust will be launched in Africa. It seems unlikely because firstly, the exhaust does not meet emission norms and secondly, it appears to be a bit pricey. If there is demand, it might be launched in Africa.
Talking about Honda CB300R, the bike is powered by a 286 cc liquid cooled, 4-stroke engine that delivers 30.45 PS of max power and 27.4 Nm of max torque. Engine is mated to a 6-speed multiple wet clutch gearbox.
Other key features include fully digital instrument cluster and all-LED lights. CB300R has dual-channel ABS with IMU that controls braking power to front and rear wheels. This ensures efficient braking and improves stability for the rider. Honda CB 300R is available at a starting price of Rs 2.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Primary rivals are BMW G310R and KTM 390 Duke.
