KTM 790 Adventure spied on test ahead of launch

KTM 790 Adventure sports the same 800cc parallel twin engine as seen on the new 790 Duke.

Showcased at 2017 EICMA Show and set to take to the road later this year, the KTM 790 Adventure has now been spotted on test with production ready body.

KTM 790 Adventure will be launched sometime in 2018 after the KTM 790 Duke. Once launched, the KTM 790 adventure will compete against the Africa Twin and Triumph Tiger 800. The twin motor is capable of generating 105 PS power and 90 Nm torque. KTM 790 Adventure is seen with a full LCD instrument console, twin fuel tanks and LED headlamp.

Highlights include WP suspension and Brembo brakes. It sits on 21” front and 18” rear wheels fitted with off-road tyres while the road version gets 19” front and 17” rear wheels.

Longer travel suspension, horizontal adjustable monoshock, electronic rider aids of ABS, traction control and riding models will also be seen on the new 790 Adventure ideally suiting it for off-road capabilities.Twin disc brakes in the front and a single one at the rear are seen on the new KTM 790 Adventure.

It was seen at the show with several off-roading features and the same engine as seen on the new 790 Duke. It will come in powered by the same 800cc parallel twin engine seen on the 790 Duke.

Earlier this year, a 790 ADV prototype was seen taking on the ultimate off-roader – KTM’s Dakar championship winning motorcycle. The video released by KTM shows how the 790 Adventure manages to stay at par with the Dakar champion over a series of off-road course.
