Mahindra XUV300 SUV spied testing in Jammu & Kashmir ahead of launch

Mahindra XUV300 is a sub-compact SUV which the company is actively testing ahead of official launch later this year / early next year. It will be based on the SsangYong Tivoli platform and will be positioned below the flagship XUV500 in the company line-up.
The new XUV300 is built on a new chassis. It will adopt a new design language, thanks to Italian design house, Pininfarina. It will measure 3.95m in length, 1.79m in width and 1.64m in height while wheelbase will measure 2.5m.
Its exterior design will seen some design cues borrowed from the SsangYong XAV concept and from the larger XUV500 to include a toothed front grille in a honeycomb mesh pattern, sharp headlamps with LED DRLs, sleek fog lamps, pronounced lines on its bonnet and large air intakes. It will also receive wing mirrors, flared wheel arches and large alloy wheels. Design elements to the rear will include dual exhaust tips and diffuser, an LED tail lamp and a chrome strip bearing the Mahindra badge in the middle.
Interiors of Mahindra XUV300 will be seen in a dual tone color scheme of black and beige. Interior space will be at a premium while enhanced features would include a flowing dashboard with central console offering all in-car entertainment, a floor console for storage space, a multi function steering wheel and a gear shifter.
The touchscreen infotainment system will support Apple AvtoPlay and Android Auto. For passengers at the rear, a power socket for mobile charging, adjustable AC vents and cubby holes for storage will be provided. An optional sunroof, ABS, EBD and ISOFIX mounts will also be among its features.
Engine specifications could include 1.5 liter TGDI petrol offering 90-120 bhp power and 130-150 Nm torque, a 1.5 liter diesel offering 84 bhp power and 230 Nm torque. All engines will be mated to 5 or 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmission options.
On the price front, Mahindra could price the XUV300 between Rs 7-10 lakhs as it enters a segment of affordable SUVs such as Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon.
