Africa-bound Skoda Kodiaq SUV arrives at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show
Skoda Kodiaq will be launched in Africa later this year.
Based on VW’s MQB platform, the new Skoda Kodiaq is the first ever 7 seater SUV from the Czech brand. Showcased as a concept at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the car has arrived in its production ready format at the current 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
Designed to look aggressive, as are all the new generation Skoda cars, Kodiaq gets plenty of contoured surfaces in the front and rear which gives the SUV a sporty look. Just 40 mm longer than the current Octavia, Kodiaq sets new benchmarks in the segment where interior space is concerned.
Two diesel and three petrol engines are on offer. Diesel engine is in the form of a 2.0 L TDI which is offered in two tunes of 150 PS & 340 Nm and 190 PS & 400 Nm. Petrol engine options on offer with Kodiaq are – 1.4 L TSI in two tunes of 125 PS & 200 Nm and 150 PS & 250 Nm. Top of the line petrol engine is in the form of a 2.0 L TSI generating 180 PS & 320 Nm. All engines are EU6 compliant.
Transmission options on offer are in the form of manual 6 speed, 6 speed DSG and 7 speed DSG, depending on the variant. Skoda Kodiaq is offered as a front wheel drive, as well as a 4×4.
Apart from being stylish and spacious, Kodiaq is equally premium and feature rich on the inside. Some of the features on offer include heated steering wheel with leather cover, electronically adjustable front seats, heated / cooled front seats, ambient lighting, colourful options (fabric / leather both), Skoda Connect with 6.5 inch touchscreen display, and much more.
