Royal Enfield’s most powerful motorcycles spied together – 650 Twins in Chennai
At the 2017 EICMA, Royal Enfield unveiled their fastest and most powerful motorcycles. The bikes are now getting ready for launch.
At the EICMA 2017, the oldest motorcycle manufacturing company in the world, Royal Enfield unveiled their all new 650 cc motorcycles – the Interceptor and Continental GT650. Both bikes will be launched in Africa soon.
Ahead of that, both have been spied on test in Chennai, near the company’s manufacturing plant. RE Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 are powered by company’s new twin cylinder 650 cc engine.
This engine has been specially developed to power new generation of Royal Enfield motorcycles which will be launched in the coming years, starting from the Interceptor and Conti 650. Both these bikes will first be launched in the UK and later across the globe.
Powered by the air-oil cooled parallel 650 Twin, the Interceptor is a trove of ’60s design staples with its 7″ headlight, twin clock front and quilted twin seat. The narrow teardrop tank is slapped with a classic badge and topped with a Monza-style fuel cap. A dual cradle frame with a rear loop makes up the core, by way of a nod to the original Interceptor.
The Interceptor exudes a versatile, laid-back attitude with its upright riding position. And its suspension is developed for precise, immediate handling while staying agile and light. Fun, under your control – says Royal Enfield. Three colour options are on offer – Ravishing Red, Orange Crush and Silver Spectre.
On the other hand, Continental GT is a cafe racer. It will replace the current Conti 535 from the company line-up once launched. More details to be revealed once the bikes are launched.
