From the images, it is clear that the 2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X Twins will come with new handlebar, new seating, alloys, tubeless tyres and a matte black finish on the engine, suspension, exhaust, etc. Aimed at a younger crowd of buyers, it will be offered in funky colour options like Blue, Yellow, Red, White.

Headlight and taillight unit are same as before. Headlight features projector lamp with LED DRL, taillight is LED. Tyres in the front are 90/90 – 19 while rear gets 120/80 – 18. These are wrapped around 10 spoke alloys. Braking is via a 280 mm single disc in the front and 240 mm single disc at the rear.

Powering the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is a single cylinder 350 cc engine which is also seen on the other 350 models from RE. It delivers 19.8 bhp @ 5250 rpm and 28 Nm @ 4000 rpm via a 5 speed transmission. The bigger Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X is powered by the same 500 cc single cylinder engine which powers other RE 500 bikes. This engine is air cooled twin spark, offering 27.2 bhp of peak power at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm peak torque at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5 speed transmission.

Once launched, expect the price to be about Rs 10,000 – Rs 20,000 more than the regular range of Thunderbird. Currently, the Thunderbird 350 is on sale for approx Rs 1.48 lakh while the TB 500 is on sale for about Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom prices). More details will be revealed once the bike is launched.
