Tata H5X SUV concept world premieres at Auto Expo 2018 (Photos & Video)
The SUV is based on the Land Rover Discovery Sport platform.
The Tata H5X SUV concept which previews a premium crossover family (codenamed Q501/502) has been unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018. The SUV, along with the 45X hatchback concept, debuts the brand’s Impact Design 2.0 design philosophy.
The new design language is refreshing and finally has zero hint of Indica’s familiar silhouette. The H5X which is based the Land Rover Discovery Sport platform sports a bold new face with narrow LED headlamps, Land Rover like grille, aggressive chin and prominent black plastic foglight enclosures.
The profile too is aggressive with muscular sheet metal design, a sleek greenhouse and massive alloy wheels. The tapering rear windshield, wraparound LED taillights and a generously proportioned rear diffuser round off what can be described as a striking exterior design.
The interiors are still under wraps as of now but expect a brand new design and layout with familiar Tata steering wheel. The premium crossover would be available in both 5 and 7 seat configurations. The car will be packed up to the gills with upmarket features to take on its rivals. The competition will come primarily from the brisk selling Jeep Compass.
The production version of Tata H5X will be powered by Fiat’s 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine that also powers the Compass. Details about launch time frame and pricing would be released at a later date.
