Tata Zica name change announced, 20 new products for Auto Expo
Tata Motors today announced that their upcoming small car will no longer be called Zica. This is due to the outbreak linked to Zika virus, which has forced WHO to declare a global emergency.
It was back in November last year that Tata Motors revealed the name of their new car. Promoted by their global brand ambassador, Zica derived its name from ZIppy CAr. Aimed at first time buyers from the younger generation, Tata Motors had thoughtfully christened the new car as Zica.
At the upcoming Auto Expo, Tata Motors will showcase more than 20 products, including Zica. At the Auto Expo, though the branding of the car will read as Zica, the car’s new name will be revealed in a few weeks from now.
Promising over 20 new products both in passenger and commercial vehicle segments, Tata Motors will be seen at the Auto Expo under the theme #TataMotorsSmartHub. Tata Motors in association with Wizcraft have designed and executed #TataMotorsSmartHub as a synergy between Smart Technology and Smart Products.
Tata Motors will have the largest stall at the 2016 Auto Expo. At Tata Pavilion in Hall No. 14 visitors, Tata Motors will be displaying their range of passenger cars and commercial vechicles. Along with that, they will also have a series of games for Lionel Messi fans through virtual interaction.
Visitors will also be able to witness their exclusive #madeofgreat merchandise, which can be won in exciting contests. A new passenger design language – IMPACT Design will also be showcased. Viewers interested in acoustics will be happy the note sound experience powered by the HARMAN infotainment system while interactive zones will offer more information on the new Revotron and Revotorq engines. A personalized studio will allow visitors to create their own personalized designs aided by the Tata Motors design team with the Zica Aktiv, Zest and Hexa Tuff being demonstrated for their stylish new body kits.
Passenger vehicles in display at the Tata Pavilion will include the new Zica hatchback and the Kite 5 sporty sedan. The new Tata Hexa SUV will also be showcased along with the new Nexon, Safari Storme Tuff and the Bolt Sport. In the commercial vehicle segment, the latest in trucks and buses will be on display fitted with the most advanced technology.
Products will range from the Ultra range of commercial vehicles, the Tata Prima World Truck and smaller commercial vehicles such as the Ace Mega XL and Magic Iris Ziva. A special section exclusively for the display of the T1 Prima Truck Racing will also be set apart with 100 visitors getting a chance to win tickets for the new season of T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship 2016.
