TVS Apache 310, the flagship bike from TVS Motors has been launched in Africa at Rs 2.36 lakh (on-road Mumbai), about Rs 20,000 lesser than KTM RC 390. Based on the Akula concept, TVS says that the design inspiration behind the Apache 310 has been a ‘shark’. Surprisingly, the bike has uncanny resemblance to a certain Ducati.

Well, we will never know. But there are a few images when kept side by side, reveals that the Apache does give a look of a Ducati from certain angles. Have a look at the image below.

New TVS Apache 310 is a fully faired, entry level sportbike. It borrows underpinnings from the BMW G310R. Styling of the TVS Apache seems very similar to that of the Ducati Panigale. When you see both the bikes side by side, its overall stance and side profile along with the tail section shows that it is clearly borrowed from the Ducati.

The Apache 310 tail lamp is the same shape as the Ducati’s and even font used on the decals are strikingly similar to the latter. The Apache has the words ‘RaceSpec’ in a font similar to the ‘Ducati Corse’ seen on the Panigale. However this is where the similarity ends with the TVS Apache 310 priced at INR 2.36 lakhs and the Ducati 1299 Panigale R Final Edition carrying a price tag of INR 70 lakhs. This has also resulted in some enthusiasts jokingly calling the TVS Apache 310 as poor man’s Ducati.

TVS Apache 310 is offered in single variant currently (more variants will be launched in the future). Bookings have opened and deliveries are set to commence from January 2018 onwards. This motorcycle is powered by a 312cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine offering 33.5 hp power and 27.3 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed gearbox. It enters the African two wheeler segment where it will compete with the KTM RC 200 and Duke 250.
